Friday Photo Fun #5

Here we go again. This week's mystery object might be a little trickier because not everyone has one of these, but give it your best shot. The winner gets their blog linked to my big red button.

13/12/10: Since this was such a tricky one, I'm going to leave it up just a little longer.  Here are all the clues we've had so far, and I've added one more:

 1.  The diameter, including the outside edge, is about the length of my index finger.
 2.  The thing that looks like a wheel does turn, but it isn't important for the task that it's used for.
 3.  It is not a hair-related item.
 4.  It is not a coffee maker, but it is related to coffee.
 5.  This is only one part of the whole item, it has two pieces, this is sort of the lid.
 6.  It is not the filter for a vacuum cleaner.
 7.  It is used for preparing a liquid, not coffee, but related to coffee.
 8.  These come in many shapes and sizes, quite often they are made of glass, but mine happens to be plastic.

  2. I know what it is. I gave that object to you I think. I'm not playing so I won't say it. Have fun:):)

  4. Is it a hairdryer/ some other hair-doing object?

  5. Mem: Yes, you gave it to me! :)

Erik: It may be bizarre, but I use it every day.

Santa: Nope, not a hair-doing object.

  6. Can we get a clue about scale? Is the wagon-wheel/trivial-pursuit circle have a diameter more like a coin or the length of a finger?

    Does it turn?

  7. Okay, the diameter of the whole circle, including the outside part, is about the length of my index finger. And it can turn, but that's not necessary for it to work. More clues tomorrow...I'm off to bed!

  8. Hmmmm.... a baseket inside a coffee maker that holds the coffee filter?

  9. Umm ... the press part of a French press? Or the wheel of a very small chariot?

  10. Pero es un vaso visto desde arriba, no? con su tapa.

  11. Past Expiry: No, it's not part of a coffee maker. But it does go inside something else.

Bud: Nope, but I like the chariot idea. :D

giozi: Vamos a decir que lo que estas viendo es una especie de tapa.

Okay, let me give you guys another clue. What you see in the image is just part of the object. There are two parts to it. Oh, and I keep it in the kitchen, so some of you are on the right track. As I said before, it is not a common item at all, although I happen to have two of them.

  12. A filter for a vacuum cleaner?

  13. Jason: No, sorry, but that's not it.

Okay everybody, listen up. Here's a new clue. Those of you who said coffee maker are on the right track. It is related to coffee in some way, but it is not for making the coffee.

  14. Okay, last clue. It is used to prepare a liquid (not coffee, but related to coffee).

  15. Either a juicer or a water filter.

  16. Alex: No, but you're kind of close. It is used to prepare a liquid that is very closely related to coffee, but it's not the water.
