Don't Worry. Be Happy.

As you can see I haven't done much during the Easter holiday worth blogging about. Since it's been raining a good deal lately, I've spent most of my free time playing around with my test blog's template code. Boy, I must be really bored (actually, this has been pretty fun and I'd say even addictive). I'm learning more about html than I ever thought I would.

I'm pretty happy with the template I've created so far. So, I should just not worry and be happy with it. However, I have heard that people using Explorer, especially if it's version 6 or earlier, have trouble with these kinds of semi-transparent templates. So, before I change the look of this blog, I would really appreciate any feedback you can give me. Please, have a look at My Other Blog's in the Shop and leave me your opinion about how it looks, how I could make it even better and most importantly, does it work for your browser. I put up a funny video from YouTube as an incentive -So, what are you waiting for, go check it out.

  1. I looked at it on our laptop too just now. I used Explorer with a 15 inch screen. I could see most of it, but for some reason I can't seen the video (it is just an empty box, but not with a broken link symbol.) Also, the flowers are not there in the box when the text it; the are only background. Interestingly, the scrolling is not slow with explorer like it was with firefox. I hope it works out though, I really do like this better.

  2. That's the problem I've heard that people have in Explorer, the links don't work and the posts don't look transparent. I'm looking for a code fix to solve this problem. So, the scrolling was slow for you in Firefox? I'm using Firefox too, but don't have that problem. We have Windows, though, so maybe it's the Linux-Firefox combo that does it. What a pain that all systems don't work the same way. Keep checking in to see if it gets any better.

  4. The problem seems to be with Explorer 6 and earlier. We tried it out on Jesús' laptop and the post background looked solid white. The links didn't work either until we allowed all the cookies. I'm still trying to figure out how to fix it before I change this blog to the new template.

  5. I think it looks great! And I love the title font.

A suggestion though (because I am a nit pick and I have fooled with my template way too much, which pretty much has the same layout as yours it looks like, so you can look at my code and copy it) I would make the borders around the boxes a bit wider and in a color other than black so they stand out a bit stronger.

I love the transparent look. I am viewing in Firefox with Windows. I am having the slow scroll problem though.

  6. It might be a linux thing, but Jim's computer is always a little slow with graphics... I will ask him if that is what it is.

  7. I used the Minima template as a base, and just started fiddling around with it. I'll try changing the borders to see how it looks, that should be easy enough. The slow scrolling thing could be harder to fix, though. I think it might depend on processor speed or the internet connection. I'm using a .png as the background for my posts and sidebar, and that might have something to do with it. Anyway, I'll see what I can do to fix it.
